Watering
- Winter Months
- Installations in the winter months, December-February, require watering day of installation unless there has been precipitation recently. Outside of watering day of installation, due to the cold weather, moisture is retained for longer periods which allows for the sod to maintain itself with the cold environment this time of year.
- Spring and Summer Months
- Installations in the spring and summer months, March-August, require watering day of installation unless there is rain the day of installation. Depending on the temperature it is recommended for the installation period watering to take place every other day or if the temperature exceeds 85 degrees water each day for the first two-three weeks after which the sod will be fully rooted. During these spring and summer months you’ll want to ensure that your lawn is getting enough water, it is recommended after the installation period watering that your new lawn receive one inch worth of rainfall a week – a rain gauge helps keep track of natural water!
- Fall Months
- Installations in the fall months, September-November, require watering day of installation, if the weather is cooler than 50 degrees and there has been precipitation recently it is still recommended to lightly water the sod in. Moisture is retained in the soil better than the spring and summer months but you’ll still want to water every two to three days this time of year to ensure the roots are receiving the needed water. Early fall you’ll want to monitor the weather and temperature and base your decisions off of those two factors!

- Always ensure that your blades are sharp and intact, this will ensure that your lawn is healthy and looking its best!
